In addition to the routine and emergency care of all companion animals, Dr. McAroy has a special interest in English Bulldogs and brachycephalic (short-nosed) breeds. Our staff is experienced in the care and concerns of English Bulldogs, and understand the complexities in dealing with Bulldog anesthesia and surgery. Some of the surgical procedures performed at LRVC on English Bulldogs include nictitans gland replacement surgery ("cherry eye"), entropion correction and other ophthalmic procedures, and tail amputation (in cases of severely malformed or malpositioned adult tails). We routinely treat rescued Bulldogs for New England Bulldog Rescue.
